A game of roof golf consists of five innings. If, at the end five innings, the score is tied, extra innings shall be played, one at a time, until one sided emerges victorious. This is modeled after baseball innings.
Balls must be struck with a PGA approved club.
Roof golf may be played between individuals or teams.
Each inning shall consist of three swings per player. A swing is counted as such regardless of whether contact is made with the ball, unless it is specified before the game begins that contact is required for a swing to count
Scoring
One run is awarded when the ball lands outside the yellow hose and rolls inside the yellow hose.
Two runs are awarded when the ball lands inside the yellow hose.
Three runs are awarded when the ball ball strikes mini-ORG before the ball hits the turf.
Four runs are awarded when the ball hits ORG before the ball hits the turf.
If a ball initially hits a roly poly then the ball is immediately dead, and the player is penalized two runs.
Similarly, once a scoring event occurs the ball is dead. For example, if an ORG occurs, no matter what happens to the ball thereafter, four runs are awarded.
Hitting ORG with the ball constitutes “Orging” and is the first step toward being inducted into the illustrious HALL OF ORG. The final step to be inducted into the HALL OF ORG is winning one's game. In a team game, only the individual who "ORGED" is eligible for the HALL OF ORG.
A player cannot be a winner of a roof-golf match unless the player has at least one positive run.
A player is NOT eligible for induction into the HALL OF ORG unless the player ORGS during the match and wins the game. In other words, a player must ORG and have the most runs at the end of the game.
Also, to protect the integrity of the HALL OF ORG, to be eligible for induction into the HALL OF ORG, The Director must have witnessed the ORG unless The Director has deputized someone.
