GOOD GOLLY GRANDPA! Just as everyone was saying that the HALL OF ORG could never have a grandfather-inductee, Raymond E. Humiston III aka Hummer aka Ski-Dog proved them wrong. On December 26, 2016, Hummer, who is still renowned in Wilton, Conn for his deadly jump shot and known throughout USA for his kickboxing and rowing accomplishments, became the fastest ORGER. In the third inning of his first match, he proclaimed "This is for my granddaughter Ilona" and craftily banked his shot off the bench to hit ORG- a shot no one had ever attempted since it was assumed to be impossible. The crowd gasped and many bellowed "lucky." To silence his doubters - in his next match, Hummer ORGED in more traditional manner. But wait, I am not done and neither was Hummer, who returned for one more match before catching his evening flight to MIami. After 3 innings, Hummer had 17 runs, within reach of the HALL's record of 24 runs for a 5-inning match. A crowd started to gather. Soon Hummer had 23 runs with one shot left in the bottom of the fifth inning. The crowd wondered - "is Hummer going to throw away his shot?" Like Hamilton, Hummer did not- he scored 2 more runs and snatched the title for the most runs. Yes indeed, Hummer had 5 ORGS in less than 30 minutes of play - amazing for any man, but unbelievable for a grandfather! You might encounter Hummer in Miami, Carmel, Cville, or SD, and if you do, please give him a hearty congrats and then hire him to be your swing coach.
