HOLY CREEPERS - WHAT A WAY TO START 2014!! Familial history was made at the HALL OF ORG on New Year's Day 2014 - a father-son duo was finally inducted. The father, Marc Lane, aka Night Train and a 1975 winner of the outstanding athlete award at the University, well-known for his racquet skills and sportsmanship, but now hobbled with two frayed achilles tendons, arrived at the HALL simply happy to leave uninjured. Yet in a 5 inning match against his fiercely determined sons, Tyler and Josh, Marc transferred his old racquet magic to his golf club. In the 3rd inning Marc rocked ORG's right shoulder ! Although his sons battled fiercely thereafter, Marc protected his lead with repeated one-run shots to ensure his induction. Although some have questioned his stamina, this writer knew that Marc had one more ORG in him. The son, Josh Lane, a ranked squash player and renowned guitar maker from Greenwich VIllage, came West with one goal in mind- to ORG!! Josh smartly practiced at Maderas Golf Course and Torrey Pines South before arriving at the HALL. After his crushing defeat to his dad minutes before, the crowd gave Josh little chance of an induction because he and his brother Tyler were then matched against their spirited mom, Warrior Carol, and inductee Alice. Showing his indomitable spirit, Josh repeatedly surrounded ORG and inevitably bounced a shot off ORG's helmet. Warrior Carol immediately pleaded for a reconsideration of this ORG ruling, but clearly there were no grounds to waive off Josh's decisive ORG. Please warmly welcome Father Marc and Son Josh into the HALL OF ORG!
